You are planning a trip to visit your pen pal's country. Now that you know all about the import / export situation there, you have scheduled a meeting with a local businessperson to discuss the possibility of working together in the future. Your friend will help you locate this person and arrange the meeting. While you are there, you will want to do all the typical tourist things (visit museums or unique architecture, try the food, attend a special event if possible, etc.) As a tourist, it would be helpful, but as a businessperson, it is vital that you become aware of some of the important customs, traditions, protocol, etc. in that country. To have a fun and successful trip, you must learn anything and everything you can about the country's culture. You should explore proper table manners, expected interaction with friends and hosts, business protocol, and social "norms" that could cause unintentional offense. To help you know where to begin, here is a list of questions in worksheet format. You leave in three (3) days, so you need to know this information NOW! Your boarding ticket for your flight is the completed worksheet. Also, at the gate, the flight attendant will ask you for your preferred seat. To get the seat you want, you must tell him/her one fact about your destination that is NOT covered in the worksheet. Have a great trip! BON VOYAGE! Worksheet |
