Activity - Shipping
|
|
Here comes the fun part. Up to now, you have been working with imaginary people, products, and numbers. But now you can demonstrate your knowledge concretely. Your assignment for this lesson is to demonstrate the shipment of your product from your hometown to destination country. Find a large box to serve as your container and many small boxes to represent pallets or crates of your product. Some options might be a fruit box and shoe boxes, a shoe box and legos, or a square food storage container and sugar cubes. Just be sure that you can use your objects to show the class how to stack the pallets for optimal stability, air flow, and temperature control. With your class, designate a part of your classroom to be the United States (somewhere near the middle), the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans, and each of the other continents. Use a large tray, a toy boat, train, or larger boxes to represent different types of transportation as you demonstrate how your product will be transferred overseas. Be sure to note the location where the product becomes the buyer's (as decided in the terms of sale). Bon voyage! |
